Name: Anna Huttenlocher, MD Department: Medical Microbiology and Immunology Immunology Focus Area: Autoimmunity, Reproductive, and Transplant Immunology
Descriptive Title of Research: Innate immunity and inflammation Research Description:
The focus of research in our group is on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate inflammation and its resolution. Using both human cells (primary and human iPS cells) and zebrafish we dissect pathways that alter leukocyte migration and the onset and resolution of inflammation. We are particularly interested in mechanisms that regulate neutrophil-macrophage cross talk that affect host pathogen interactions, wound repair and cancer progression (“unhealed wound”). We are also interested in how impaired inflammation resolution contributes to the development of autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases.
